The AW11 collection for Comme des Garcons Homme saw designer Rei Kawakubo take cross cultural inspiration in a range that fused Eastern and Western styles to sensational effect. Deconstructed, drop crotch trousers effortlessly sashayed along the runway amongst more traditional tailored jackets and waistcoats; a mixture of silks and heavy wools added textural detail for the season ahead. The result was a collection with both geographical and historical reference, an embodiment of Kawakubo’s aesthetic fit for its contemporary wearers.
