Sibling started life in 2008 as a men’s knitwear label, created by three of the world’s most innovating designers Cozette McCreery, Sid Bryan and Joe Bates, whom have worked together and separately on countless projects previously, bringing a wealth of experience to the table for this venture . Their collections informed by punk, pop art and youth culture comprised of bright coloured knitwear with bold graphics, often collaborating with trail blazing artists, soon found a cult following. After the success of Sibling came its womenswear collection Sister by Sibling, creating stunning pieces for women infused with the signature Sibling youth and humour, clothes that truly refuse to take themselves seriously!
Entitled 'The Natural Blonde', The Sister by Sibling AW13 collection is dedicated to Paula Yates. Described as an English Rose with a 'sexy side'. the collection features chintzy twin sets in luxurious knits with embroidered flotals vamped up by contrasting oversized polka dots. Narrow forties style silhouettes were realised in lurex with the signature sequin embellisshment scattering the collection. A colour palette of soft mauves, dirty pinks and plae yellows ammounted to a decidedly more laid back and ladylike aesthetic than the previous seasons neon leopard print. Never one to avoid controversy, this seasons more demure colour palette was counteracted by the huge oversized knits in the form of scarves, berets and mittens, resulting in another outrageously fun collection from the award winning British designer trio.
