Adidas x Lotta Volkova
This week we will be launching the new Adidas x Lotta Volkova collection. Working as an in-house stylist for Vetements and Balenciaga, Lotta Volkova's behind the scenes work has been attributed to both brands huge success over the years. Though, this season Volkova is stepping out from behind the scenes onto centre stage to bring us a collection of vibrant women's clothing, shoes and swimwear in collaboration with sportswear giants, adidas.
Born in Russia during the Soviet Union regime, she was exposed to fashion from other cultures due to her father, a naval captain that would bring clothes as presents from his travels around the world. At 17, she left her hometown of Novosibirsk to study art and design at London’s Central Saint Martins and would go on to start her first punk-inspired fashion label, Lotta Skeletrix. Following her stint in London, she relocated to Paris to focus on a career in styling. Here, she met Vetements founder and creative director of Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia.
Her latest creative endeavour was announced via Volkova’s Instagram, where she posted a picture of her wearing a matching pastel green and yellow tracksuit accompanied with an adorable pink table-tennis inspired handbag. Standout pieces from the collection include an ice skating-inspired dress and a colourful take on the classic SL 72 silhouette.
Keep an eye out for this exciting collection - available 13th of August.
