Dr Martens x Stussy Collaboration

09 Sep 2016

There are perhaps no two brands that encapsulate youthful individualism better than both Stussy and Dr. Martens thus naturally the two 'tribes' have joined forces to create a capsule collection for Autumn/Winter 2016.  Inspired by California surf culture, Shawn Stüssy, a surfboard maker from Laguna Beach drew influences from rap, punk, and graffiti, to create the 'Stussy Tribe'. Since then Stussy's distinctive style resonated with creative youths, almost single-handedly shaping every streetwear trend of the past 30 years. Dr. Martens to, have an equally fruitful history and relationship with being at the heart of every youth subculture in recent history, making this collaboration the perfect fit. The project consists of a Dr. Martens’ 1460 8 Eye boot and a Bailey Creeper shoe. Dr. Martens constantly produce boots of the highest quality and this collaboration is no exception as both the two styles have been constructed from pebble grain textured leather uppers, and a luxe cheetah print hair panel. It is the cheetah print that embodies the surf sensibilities and wild, independent style that the two fashion giants have built their success upon. The 1460 8 Eye boot is available in a cherry and black colorway. On the other hand, the upper and sole of the Creeper style have been sewn together, heat-sealed and finished with a dual-branded sock liner and the traditional Dr. Martens woven heel loop.
