Eastpak Upcoming Collaborations with MSGM and Raf Simons
Born in 1952 as a military manufacturer under the name Eastern Canvas Products. By 1976 attention turned towards providing students with a reliable and fashionable way to carry their books; cue the birth of the iconic 'Daypack', and Eastpak as it's known today. Not shy of a inciting reaction Eastpak have collaborated with designers over the years like House of Hackney, APC and Raf Simons. This Fall Winter season again sees returning associate Raf Simons teaming up with Eastpak and welcomes a first collaboration with MSGM.
The Raf Simons capsule takes references from retro-futurism and sub-culture, both main-stays of his own line this season. Oversized angular pockets, reimagined silhouettes and cross body straps occupy a space between Raf's couture world and Eastpak's urban subculture modernism through textiles like wool and polyester.
MSGM's "Creatively Disruptive" instalment forges a vision which carries 'DNA of both brands'. Whilst the Raf Simon's collaboration plays with oversized patterns MSGM have played with oversized branding. Ambitious distressed floral prints, contrasting strap designs and detachable key-rings offer a style and functionality for everyday use.
