JW Anderson Womenswear - The FW20 Collection
We’ve already seen what JW Anderson’s FW20 menswear collection has brought us, but what can we expect from his new collection of womenswear? This season’s collection is all about creating strong silhouettes and features stunning statement coats as well as luxurious leather accessories.
One piece that’s sure to be a hit this season is the Handkerchief SB Coat, crafted with luxurious wool and designed with a fitted waist to create a beautiful silhouette. Finished with handkerchief hem, it will add instant elegance too. Alternatively, if for those who want to make a real statement, the Asymmetric Puffer Coat is an instant showstopper, combining an oversized fit with a chic satin effect finish.
JW Anderson has also created a number of staple pieces for the new season, such as the Tab Hem Turtleneck Jumper. Featuring bell sleeves which fits neatly into the statement sleeve trend we saw so much of on the FW20 catwalks, this sleek jumper will create an effortlessly dramatic looking silhouette.
It’s no secret that leather is without a doubt one of the biggest trends of 2020 overall. It was a prominent fixture on the SS20 catwalks, and it’s certainly here to stay for FW20. London Fashion Week showcased how it should be done with fashion houses such as Fendi and Versace leading the way. In terms of how to wear the trend? Opt for versatile pieces which can be worn either separately or together, depending on how dramatic you want to be. As for the colour, last season was all about variety - however for FW20, it’s all about dark, neutral shades, with black being the most dominant. When it comes to accessories, the new season is all about chunky chains and mini bags, which we’re seeing a lot of in Anderson’s latest collection. Gold chain necklaces were a big thing for SS20, and they’re here to stay for FW20, and one of our hottest pieces is the Multi-Links Choker in a warm, gold finish. Plus, with matching sets being a hit this season - spotted in the collections of Chloé among others - you can pair it with the Gold Multi-Links Bracelet to really take the look to the next level. JW Anderson also brings it with the mini bags trend this season, with pieces such as the Nano Cap Bag, a playful twist on the classic baseball cap. Crafted in smooth leather, it’s the perfect way to style out not only the mini bag trend, but it also the concept of bags with different shapes and structures too.
