Rick Owens FW19: Larry

Rick Owens' FW19 collection has been inspired by cult 70s designer, Larry LeGaspi, who designed costumes for Labelle, Kiss, Grace Jones, and Divine. Owens has citied LeGaspi as an influence for almost two decades and pays homage to him by naming his latest collection "Larry'. 

Showcased at the Paris’ Palais De Tokyo, the collection combines glam rock with signature Owens touches. The models walked to a cover of Abba’s “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” wearing Bauhaus shoulders, high-waisted black jeans and Kiss inspired heeled platforms. Enormous duvet-style ‘Middle America’ jackets were a standout and oversized exaggerated silhouettes all made up a brilliant tribute to a seemingly forgotten figure.
