Transitional Outerwear

As we move into Spring, it can be tricky knowing quite how heavily to layer up. With unpredictable weather patterns, certain fabrics are a no-go. We have shortlisted some of our favourite mens & women's outwear pieces to see you seamlessly (and cosily) through into Spring and beyond.

Casual Outerwear: Men's

Comme Des Garcons X Junya Watanabe MAN

Comme Des Garcons Junya Watanabe MAN brings us this deceptively practical bomber jacket. Infused with Gore-Tex® Technology, the jacket is both wind and rainproof with a nylon body. The neck, cuffs and hem are built from ribbed knit fabric to keep you snug while the breathable, lightweight construction adapts to changing temperatures. If that wasn't enough, the jacket has a padded gilet underlay which can be kept inside for extra warmth. The gilet can be removed via buttons and can be worn alone, with a long sleeve tee underneath for a casual Spring look.

Rick Owens DRKSHDW

The latest release from Rick Owen's DRKSHDW presents this hooded bomber jacket. Built from coated rainproof fabric, the jacket boasts a hood that can be zipped down the centre and folded over, splitting it open completely to alter the shape of the jacket. Alternatively, the hood can be kept zipped shut, with a high funnel collar and contrast drawstrings to secure the fit. The jacket is practical and lightweight, with ribbed hem and cuffs for extra comfort on those windy days.

Y-3

Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas offer up this longline bomber jacket from Y-3: Combining practical design elements with Y-3's iconic minimal style, this jacket boasts the classic bomber shape, but with a longline length: welcome coverage for those chilly days. With tonal branding on the back and a sheen finish, this jacket is a sleek example of sports-luxe. The relaxed fit allows for extra layering, with tonal detailing for easy styling and versatility.

Y-3's latest offering brings us this coach jacket, which ticks many boxes. The jacket merges Yohji Yamamoto's artful design flair with Adidas' tech-focussed elements. With a streamlined silhouette and tonal Y-3 branding, the jacket boasts a fold away hood, making it a practical choice for those mixed weather days. Built from rainproof fabric, the jacket has an elasticated waist and ribbed cuffs for extra protection against the elements.
