Tomorrow sees the launch of Adidas Yeezy sneaker: the Adidas Yeezy Powerphase Calabasas.
A new take on an 80s classic, the Yeezy sneaker is based on Adidas' Powerphase OG sneaker, this time in a 'Core Black' colour way. Previously released in off-white and medium grey, the sneaker is not a new design, but a fresh colour way.
In all over black, the colour is more of a washed out shade than an inky black. The dusty hue is quite typical of Yeezy, with muted tones dominating the brand's colour palette. In a matte leather finish with tonal detailing, the slim silhouette retains it's sleek aesthetic, with one-sided dual branding adding the only pops of colour to the shoe. On one side, Adidas is embossed in green lettering, with the iconic trefoil logo in red. The shoes' namesake Calabasas is a town in North Los Angeles. Applied in gold foil, the name is the only visible nod to Yeezy branding. The tongue is stripped of any branding, reiterating the moody minimalism we expect from Yeezy.
