Mr. Bathing Ape is an ongoing collaborative project between A Bathing Ape founder Nigo, and Japanese retailers and production specialists United Arrows. The collection was born from Nigo’s love of Saville Row tailoring, and his desire to create a more formal collection which encapsulated the ethos of A Bathing Ape. The results are a collection which cleverly fuses more formal tailoring with streetwear elements.
The latest collection includes oxford shirting, cashmere mix cardigans, and a stunning array of A Bathing Ape camouflage ties and pocket squares, perfect for brightening up any formal look. The production is of the highest quality, with each item produced in Japan using Japanese or Italian fabrics.
Nigo’s early influences such as Elvis, The Beatles and hip-hop artists such as Run DMC, paved the way for his many celebrity collaborations and followers. Kanye West, Jay-Z and most famously Pharrell Williams are to name a few. The later having in 2005 helped Nigo launch the first "A Bathing Ape" store in New York. Nigo is also co-owner and head designer of Williams' Billionaire Boys Club.
It would only seem right that the company has their own record label (B) Ape Sounds.
This highly sort after and exciting brand is definitely making way for a new and interesting take on lifestyle and street wear. Wither this be through one of their many collaboration or just their unique take on the T-shirt, A Bathing Ape have helped raise a new generation of graphic art meets fashion.
