Mhairi McNicol and Chloe Patience established their Bebaroque label in July 2007. The two designers studied together at the Glasgow School of Art on the BA Textiles course, before parting ways for their MA study as Mhairi moved to the Edinburgh College of Art, whilst Chloe remained at GSA. The designers each created their own leg-wear pieces, before joining forces to bring their unique styles to market.
Bebaroque hosiery design is characterised by Chloe's intricate drawing skills and Mhairi's elaborate hand embroidery, a whimsical combination that variously evokes fairytale worlds, flora and fauna and even rock star glamour.
The label is known for its baroque leg-wear, but the design duo also create stunning body-wear and luxury embroidered mesh eveningwear. A true British brand, each collection is designed and manufactured in Scotland.
