Sibling Womens

Here at Hervia we have been championing the British award winning menswear label Sibling for a number of seasons. The quirky knitwear brand, renowned for their bold, tongue in cheek designs started life in 2008 as the brain child of three of the world’s most innovating designers Cozette McCreery, Sid Bryan and Joe Bates. Their collections informed by punk, pop art and youth culture comprise of bright coloured knitwear with bold graphics which aim to make a statement.

SS14 saw the fifth anniversary of Sibling's men's range and, following the tradition of wood being the traditional gift for a fifth anniversary, the collection uses artist Richard Wood’s woodgrain graphics in pastel shades. Reminiscent of their AW13 collection, Sibling have used bold leopard prints in black, blue and white as well as other bold, stand-out graphics that create the sense of fun that the brand have quickly become known for. The medley of American shapes and British touches give the entire collection a retro feel.

For the Spring/Summer 2014 it was America that formed the stylistic basis for the Sister by Sibling collection – titled ‘Sophisticated Boom Boom’. Sculpted florals, pencil skirts and trapeze coats added to the sense of dressing for Sunday best, whilst their first move into denim added a casual workwear element that was coordinated with the American aesthetic. The incredible colors, from pastel pink to neon yellow and soft lavender were inspired by the Tupperware parties of the 1950’s. Since launching in 2008 Sibling have continued to go from strength to strength, their show sums up what many people love about British design which incorporates a mix of idiosyncrasy, wit and refinement that is never without a genuine element of fun.
